SUMMARY

Enterprise Solution Architects collaborate across the organization to design and implement project/product solutions that meet business needs while adhering to established technology standards. ESA are premier experts in one or more business domains, and have deep knowledge of system functionality, interfaces, and capabilities within their area of responsibility. They can analyze the functionality and constraints of recommended solutions/changes across multiple systems/platforms/applications and ensure compatibility, interoperability, stability, and usability of proposed solution architecture.

Enterprise Solution Architects have one or more functional areas of focus, e.g. Finance, HR, Manufacturing, Sales, Supply Chain, etc. Technologies may include SAP, JDA/Blue Yonder, PaaS such as Palantir, Open-source cloud, mobile and other related technologies. In this role the Solution Architect will assist in designing and documenting current- and future-state landscapes and developing future state strategies and approaches in collaboration with other IT professionals and business subject matter experts. 

This role is both strategic and tactical in nature and will require strong collaboration and engagement across Tyson Foods. This role will be a staff member in the Solution Architecture team reporting directly to the Associate Director of Solution Architecture.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Participate in design and implementation of specific solutions in one's area of focus. Participate in governance, assurance, and standards activities associated with ensuring enterprise technology architecture compliance
• Partner closely with IT BU analysts, leadership, and business partners to develop the future state IT landscape for Tyson Foods
• Collaboratively develop high-level migration plans to address the gaps between the current and future state
• Research, evaluate and assist in the selection of hardware and software technology and product standards as well as the design of standard configurations for the solution set business needs
• Collaborate with business constituents, other technology architecture team members project teams, and staff in various IT functional areas as needed to fulfill the responsibilities described above
• Understand, advocate, and augment the business and IT strategies and more specifically technology architecture development and service delivery for the stakeholders in the business functions
• Partner closely with other Architects across Tyson to drive solution delivery to a standard set of technologies patterns and approaches

REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor Degree in Computer Science Information Systems Business or other Technical areas.

Experience:

• Equivalent experience with 8 plus years of progressive experience in business or IT environment or advanced degree with 6 plus years of progressive experience
• Understanding of cloud technologies and services
• Preferred 8+ years' experience with Supply Chain & Logistics applications - examples: SAP (TM, PP/DS, EWM, etc.), Blue Yonder, or similar

Computer Skills: Advanced computer skills; software architecture experience and expertise; analyzing and designing complex changes to existing systems; process flow and system architecture diagramming required.

Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Special Skills:

• Experience in Supply Chain and/or Logistics (Warehousing and Transportation)
• Organizationally savvy with understanding of the political climate of the enterprise and how to navigate obstacles and politics
• Ability to balance the long-term big picture and short-term implications of individual decisions
• Knowledge of Technology Architecture principles and processes
• Understanding and knowledge of IT service management ITSM and Information Technology Infrastructure Library ITIL
• Team player and collaborative with strong leadership skills
