Job Description:

About the Role:

As a Procurement Analyst Intern, you will support the business of on various data analysis, process improvement projects and other related tasks for the procurement packaging team. This internship offers an excellent platform to gain direct procurement experience and learn about supplier relationship management, cost management, financial reporting, and supply chain strategies related to packaging materials in the private label food manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Analysis: Support the analysis and preparation of procurement data related to packaging materials, including financial reports and material category profiles. Leverage tools such as SpendHQ, Power BI, Excel and SAP.
  • Continuous Improvement Opportunities: Work closely with the Procurement team to identify areas for process improvement in areas such as the monthly financial buyers templates, supplier spend data cleansing, development of consolidated supplier contact list and additional opportunities as needed.
  • Supplier FSQA Documentation: Assist Procurement Managers to resolve internal documentation requests from Food Safety and Quality team for supplier approval status within the TraceGains system.
  • Reporting: Assist with preparing reports on procurement activities, spend reporting, supplier performance scorecards, quarterly business review (QBR) decks and supplier contact lists.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with the production, planning, packaging engineering, finance and food safety and quality teams to ensure packaging requirements are met efficiently and effectively.
  • Additional Value-Add Activities: Participate in Corporate pre-planned intern events such as onsite plant tours, Team Building activities, Final Project Presentations, and Intern Day.

Qualifications:

  • Currently a Junior or Senior pursuing a bachelor's degree in: Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, Finance Management or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate insights. Skilled in MS Excel and knowledge of MS PowerPoint.
  • Basic understanding of procurement processes and supply chain management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of packaging materials and trends is a plus but not required.

Additional Requirements:

  • This is a full-time 2025 summer internship position located at our Oak Brook, IL corporate office (hybrid).
