Summary: 

This position will directly supervise the Outreach Specialists. The Project Coordinator will conduct in-office one on one supervision with the specialists as well as field supervision in order to ensure that best practices are being used, participant-centeredness is being exhibited and to provide quality assurance in grant compliance and implementation. The Project Coordinator position's main function is supporting the outreach team in meeting their goals and ensuring the specialist roles are effectively supporting the Case Managers and the overall team.  The Project Coordinator will work to empower low-income Veteran Families in DC, Arlington, Alexandria, Loudoun, Prince William, Fairfax, Montgomery, Frederick, and Prince George’s counties to become stably housed.


Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Outreach Specialists in field supervision, in-office case review supervision and weekly check-ins
  • Decision-making authority in regards to spending grant funds and implementation of policy and procedures
  • Provide Quality Assurance of Specialists’ Tracking Documents
  • Ensure Specialists data in HMIS is entered appropriately and timely as needed
  • Foster empowerment and a team environment in offices
  • Promote self-care and professional growth amongst the team
  • Collect feedback from community partners and participants and incorporate their feedback into the program when appropriate
  • Develop and manage goals, staff development and timekeeping of all direct report staff
  • Ensure that staff utilize best practices and exhibit participant-centeredness at all times
  • Collaborate and engage with external agencies providing services to participants, including community agencies and government agencies
  • Assist with mediation of participant crises and grievances when needed
  • Maintain data and collect statistics on Excel documents for tracking purposes
  • Assist with new staff development 
  • Attend CoC Meetings and Veteran specific CoC Meetings as needed
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and regular supervision.
  • Demonstrate empathy and flexibility in responding to participants’ needs and requests.
  • Attend professional trainings and conferences as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Requirements

Background & Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma and 6 years of relevant experience Or;
  • A Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of experience in a similar setting preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle
  • Understanding and/or experience working with Veterans
  • Experience and proficiency with HMIS data entry preferred
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Strong clinical skills and crisis management skills 
  • Ability to work in a culturally diverse environment
  • Ability to work well under pressure 
  • Ability to work as a team player
  • Strong organizational skills
