About the role

The Opportunity

Ulteig is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Associate Project Manager for Solar, BESS, and Wind Plant SCADA projects in our Automation Integration and System Protection (AISP) Department. The Project Manager will be responsible for the successful initiation, planning, execution, control, and close-out of complex, multi-discipline projects. The Project Manager will lead projects in a cost-effective manner in accordance with requirements and standards set forth in project contract(s). The successful candidate must have exceptional leadership skills and possess the ability to successfully navigate through and resolve complex and oftentimes multi-functional challenges associated with large projects. This position is open to remote or in-person locations in the U.S.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide strategic project management leadership for large and complex Solar, BESS, or Wind SCADA projects.
  • Responsible for the overall management of the project scope, schedule, and budget
  • Responsible for leading projects through all internal and external processes
  • Accountable for key project decision making
  • Maintains customer focus to meet or exceed customer expectations and represent Ulteig in a professional and courteous manner
  • Lead the project team – coaching, conflict resolution, facilitation, motivation, and negotiation
  • Manage a collaborative project team to ensure each key functional discipline is meeting the planned project scope, schedule, and budget
  • Responsible for leading project meetings internally and externally
  • Point person for contract review, negotiation, and management
  • Accountable to develop, update, and manage the project plan
  • Coordinate communication and provide status updates to internal and external stakeholders as required
  • Assess project risk and proactively develop mitigation plans
  • Proactively manages project requests for information and action items
  • Work collaboratively with the Project Coordinator team members to ensure project data, schedules, and budgets are tracked to plan
  • Ensure availability or seek out adequate resources to support the project
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those involved during the project
  • Demonstrate excellent leadership, verbal/written communication skills, time management, and interpersonal/organizational skills
  • Consistently produces results that meet company goals
  • Has high working standards and understands the business environment and processes
  • Achieving results by problem solving, setting priorities, and organization

What We Expect from You

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field preferred
  • 2 or more years of SCADA project management and/or relevant field project management experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to read and understand construction and procurement contracts
  • Experience in Microsoft Project and/or Planview Adaptive Work preferred
  • Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project)
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines by aligning priorities
  • Must be able to prepare clear and concise status updates and reports as required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including conflict negotiation/resolution and stakeholder engagement
  • Ability to establish and maintain highly effective working relationships with owners’ representatives, contractors, vendors and others on and off the project
  • Report, track, and resolve non-conformance issues
  • Ensure adherence to Ulteig Safety policies
  • Ensure adherence to Ulteig and client QA/QC programs
  • Must be able to travel to project sites as required
