A Day in the Life

If you are looking to expand business partnering skills, develop influencing capabilities, and lead high-visibility projects, come join our Global Corporate Finance team! This Senior Logistics Analyst role provides key support related to the Americas Finance & Operations Audit team.

A role in Corporate Finance offers unique experience opportunities, such as: being part of a global team, coaching others, collaborating with business partners throughout the company, visibility to global structures and impacts, and insight to various processes and functions across Medtronic. After spending 3-4 years in Corporate Finance, potential career moves could include Corporate Finance or various finance or other operational roles supporting a business unit, as well as movements between functions, such as Supply Chain or Marketing, depending on your experience and career goals.

A Day in the Life

Strategic Carrier Management

  • Maintain and drive compliance of global rate cards and processes across all modes of service

  • Lead audit management (global audit accuracy, invoice timeliness, contract compliance, review KPIs)

  • Identify and evaluate logistics service or cost improvement opportunities

Operational & Regional Unit Relationship Management

  • Drive cross functional collaboration on conformance to the global freight policy; leveraging global scale to drive process improvements and cost savings

  • Develop and manage related SOWs and SOPs Freight Audit, Payment, & Global Reporting

  • Manage relationships between both internal and external partners (e.g., Medtronic Finance, Global Freight Audit company, and transportation partners)

  • Drive cross functional collaboration on conformance to global invoicing and freight allocation best practices

  • Create, monitor, and distribute invoice level KPIs and financial month/year end reporting (e.g., payment term compliance, carrier aging, and post audit recovery)

  • Identify and lead continuous process improvement opportunities to be best-in-class; develop and manage related SOPs

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, PC and analytical skills

  • Capable of multitasking and working with changing priorities and deadlines

  • Attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams

  • Demonstrates initiative, creativity, organizational ability and follow through

  • Self-motivated, aptitude for learning, passionate about generating/implementing new ideas

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required (i.e. Business, Logistics or Finance)

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience

Nice to Have (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Excel power user (pivots, lookups, basic formulas, etc.)

  • Experience with global freight audit & pay, transportation partner aging, freight invoice best practices

  • Strong ability to partner with senior leadership and partner through others, facilitates decision-making activities, builds relationship networks at all levels, and leads change

  • Strong Financial Analysis and Accounting Skills

  • Experience with analytical tools such as PowerBI or Tableau

  • Strong communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills

  • Experience with Medtronic financial systems: SAP, Essbase/Hyperion & Business Objects

  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

  • Lean Six Sigma Experience

  • Project Management

  • Stakeholder Management
