Position Summary:
Trupanion is seeking an experienced, motivated and customer-focused IT Infrastructure Manager to join our team. As an IT Infrastructure Manager, you will be responsible for supervising the design, implementation, and maintenance of our IT infrastructure, ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Microsoft Windows and Azure technologies, along with proven leadership skills to manage a team of IT professionals effectively.
This position is only open to candidates in the Seattle area. You will have a hybrid remote/in-office schedule that requires you to work from our casual, pet-friendly office 3 days a week.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Infrastructure Design and Planning: Collaborate with senior management and IT teams to develop strategic plans for IT infrastructure to support business objectives.
- Microsoft Windows and Azure Management: Oversee all aspects of IT infrastructure based on Microsoft Windows and Azure technologies, including servers, networks, and storage.
- Virtualization Expertise: Demonstrate proficiency in virtualization technologies, experience with VMWare preferred.
- Systems Administration: Manage and maintain Windows-based servers, Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint, and other Microsoft services.
- Cloud Infrastructure Management: Architect, deploy, and manage cloud-based infrastructure on Azure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
- Network Security: Implement and maintain security best practices, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, antivirus solutions, and encryption technologies.
- Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Contribute to the development and testing of disaster recovery plans and procedures to ensure business continuity in the event of system failures or disasters.
- Vendor Management: Evaluate and select vendors for IT infrastructure products and services, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
- Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate documentation of IT infrastructure configurations, procedures, and policies, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Provide technical expertise and support to resolve complex infrastructure issues and outages in a timely manner.
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Proven leader with demonstrated ability in IT infrastructure management, with a focus on Microsoft Windows and Azure technologies.
- Hands-on experience with Windows Server, Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint, and other Microsoft services.
- Solid understanding of cloud computing principles and experience with Azure infrastructure services (VMs, storage, networking, etc.).
- Solid knowledge of network security concepts, including firewalls, VPNs, encryption, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing IT team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Superb communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Compensation:
- The salary range for this position is $145,000 - $160,000 on a full-time schedule
- Along with the base salary, Trupanion employees may be eligible for monthly bonuses.
- We want all employees to be invested in Trupanion’s success, so we grant Restricted Stock Units to all new team members. Our new hire grants vest over 4 years.
