AXIENT is looking for a Senior Space OE Warfare Strategist & Technologist subject matter expert with experience in military strategy (e.g., SAAS), higher headquarters experience, Space operational energy technologies, for a position supporting HQ USSF Future Command, Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) Operational Energy (OE) Innovation office (OE-I) and various Space OE projects. OE-I projects will include development of multi-domain and Space OE capabilities to enable Space Force future force structures. Space OE strategy included policy, doctrine, ops concepts, and technology roadmaps. Work covers the spectrum of the space domain and its integration with other warfighting domains – air, land, sea, and cyber. Strategy, force structure, and technology roadmaps are to be drafted, coordinated, presented, to include recommendations for implementation and classified annexes. The space strategist/technologist will also support space OE M&S and its integration into domain wargaming. Modeling projects focus on Space operations and integration with the other domains and Services. The space strategist/technologist will work with the Axient team to ensure information is shared to present integrated unclassified and classified products. The Axient team will integrate the M&S and visualization of Space and multi-domain OE innovations concepts, with strategy, doctrine, and roadmaps, to enable domain wargaming and the delivery of future Space and multi-domain capabilities to the warfighter.

 

What you will do...

 

Responsibilities shall include but are not limited to:  

  • Expertise in future Space Force systems (including force structure strategies, concepts of operations, and use policies)
  • Expertise in Space systems technology, architectures, and roadmaps including Space systems used for Space access, Space maneuver, Space mission power
  • Knowledgeable in Space systems research and engineering (R&E), and acquisitions
  • Supporting USSF and DOD Operational Energy (OE) innovation science and technology (R&E) and application to future systems.
  • Proposed Service future force structures and resulting operational energy needs.
  • Current and future energy technologies and their resulting capabilities to meet multi-domain future force structure needs that give the US a competitive OE advantage across all domains.
  • Minimizing OE as a limiting factor to military operations of domain future force structures.
  • Enhancing the ability of OE technologies to enable Space Force capabilities.
  • Collecting and organizing information into a comprehensive Space energy strategy with implementation recommendations for use by the USSF, OSD OE Innovation office, and Service - Combatant Commander operational energy offices.
  • Supporting the OSD OE-I office and its various energy portfolios.
  • Applying research, technology, engineering, and writing skills in support Space Solar Power, Space OE, Space Industrial Base, and Space Mobility missions.
  • Support applying recommendations regarding research findings, technical and operational performance, risk, and suitability.

 

SUPPORTING TASKS WILL INCUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Working with USSF and other DOD OE innovation related projects.
  • Working for Axient in support of USSF and DOD operational energy assigned portfolios/projects, to enhance effectiveness and efficiency within and across the domains of Space, Air, Land, Sea, and Cyber.
  • Supporting Axient DOD assigned projects, to include the Space Energy Strategy / Space Nuclear Power Study/Strategy (SES-SNUP) and/or the Operational Energy Roadmap and Strategy (ROAST), in collaboration with government labs, academia, and industry that target specific mission-capability gaps identified by the Joint Staff, Services, CCMDs, and DOD leadership
  • Support research on current and future Space operational energy technologies and innovations as directed by government program managers and/or project leaders with government organizations and industry.
  • Provide high quality written documentation of research and analytic support efforts.
  • Support the development of software solutions to aid dialogue and collaboration between military operators and military acquirers.
  • Support development of Space operational energy innovation training and education software.
  • Collaborate with government labs, academia, industry, and across DoD entities (Services etc.) to identify software requirements and specifications.
  • Support Space wargaming M&S, including application of software, flowcharts for new software programs and systems.
