Origin Design is continually seeking highly qualified individuals to enhance and expand our staff to better serve our clients. We are currently hiring a full-time Business Development & Relationship Manager who will lead business development efforts in the Dubuque, Quad Cities and Iowa City areas for all Origin Design markets and service lines. The position will be based out of our Dubuque or Davenport, Iowa office.  

Position Responsibilities.

Planning & Strategy

• Assist CEO, Directors, and Team Leaders in developing, monitoring, adjusting, and implementing business development plans and strategies for all markets and service lines provided by Origin Design.
• Research, assess, and monitor other firms in similar markets, providing similar services in the Dubuque, Quad Cities and Iowa City areas.
• Research private and public funding opportunities, public capital improvement plans, and other sources of data to identify project and client opportunities.
• Identify potential new project and client opportunities and assist with assessing priorities for new project/client pursuits.
• Participate in planning and researching new markets and service lines in the Dubuque, Quad Cities and Iowa City areas.

Relationship Management

• Assist with developing relationships with potential new clients.
• Make regular contact and visits with potential new clients to build relationships and to promote Origin Design. 
• Make regular contact with and visits to existing clients to maintain relationships, assess Origin Design performance, client satisfaction, and identify upcoming opportunities.
• Transfer new client relationships to designated project manager.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of current and past clients throughout the organization.
• Build the professional practice of the firm and enhance its reputation with clients, the public and the profession.
• Maintain and expand network of contacts within the communities including organization leaders, clients, professionals, officials, consultants, and decision makers.
• Participate in professional and civic activities in the communities and encourage other Origin Design staff to do the same.
• Serve on local, state and national planning or policy boards.
• Represent Origin Design at meetings, interviews, conferences, and trade shows.
• Attend client meetings.
• Determine client priorities and what is important to them to position Origin Design to meet those needs.

Requirements

 Position Requirements.

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in business development or a related field in the Dubuque, Quad Cities and/or Iowa City area. 
• Knowledge and experience in the architectural, engineering, and construction industry is preferred.
• Established network of contacts within the community, including clients, professionals, officials, consultants, and decision makers is preferred.
• Willingness to travel within Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin at a minimum. Must hold a valid driver’s license.
• Possesses exceptional oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate with clients, staff, contractors, regulatory agencies, and the public.
