Manager, Software Engineering

Job Description

We’re looking for a Software Engineering Manager to join Procore’s Resource Management area. In this role, you’ll manage a distributed team that is focused on Procore's labor time tracking and field productivity solutions.

As a Software Engineering Manager, you’ll partner with Engineering Leaders and Product and UX teammates to deliver solutions that impact hundreds of thousands of construction workers. Use your leadership, management, and communication skills to continue to grow Procore's ability to meet industry needs and build a world-class labor management solution.

This position reports to the Division Leader for Resource Management with the opportunity to be located in the Austin, TX office. We’re looking for someone to join us immediately.

What you’ll do:

• Work cross-functionally with your counterparts in product management and UX to build our product roadmap and engineering execution plan
• Collaborate with leadership to set short-term and long-term goals and strategies that drive excellence and product quality for Procore's highest-impact products.
• Contribute to Procore's technical architecture and product design.
• Mentor and coach your team and the broader organization
• Identify opportunities and manage your team to successfully deliver our top product initiatives.

What we’re looking for:

• 5+ years total experience as a Software Engineer
• 2+ years of experience supervising and managing full-stack software development teams
• BS or MS degree in Computer Science, related discipline, or equivalent experience
• You value people over process and emphasize a culture of respect.
• You value building relationships with others and earn respect by taking ownership and empowering your team and co-workers to take ownership.
• Experience working across counterparts in Product Management, UX/Design, and other engineering teams to ship complex products and feature sets.
• Experience leading engineering teams with empathy, providing mentorship to other engineers, and contributing to their career development.
• Experience building software and services at scale using modern service-oriented architecture and domain-driven design.
• Experience in full stack development of customer-facing products using the following technologies: Modern object-oriented languages and frameworks (e.g. Ruby, JavaScript, Typescript, React, Next.js). Native Cloud Infrastructure (e.g. AWS EC2, AWS RDS, DynamoDB), Scalable APIs (e.g. REST, gRPC or GraphQL)

Additional Information

Base Pay Range $158,680-$218,185. Eligible for Bonus Incentive Compensation. Eligible for Equity Compensation. Procore is committed to offering competitive, fair, and commensurate compensation, and has provided an estimated pay range for this role. Actual compensation will be based on a candidate’s job-related skills, experience, education or training, and location.
