In this role, you’ll design and scale reliable infrastructure with a focus on end-to-end observability, continuous delivery pipelines, and the seamless integration of platforms through internal and third-party APIs.This is a role for a builder, leader, and systems thinker—someone who can zoom out to see the whole ecosystem, align engineering practices with strategic goals, and push innovation across teams. You’ll help elevate our reliability practices while enabling data-driven decisions through meaningful integration of monitoring, alerting, and visualization tools.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage observability systems using New Relic, Splunk, Grafana, and related tools.
  • Develop and maintain Python-based automation to improve system visibility, remediation, and scalability.
  • Integrate third-party and internal tools via APIs to enable data sharing, visualization, alert routing, and unified dashboards.
  • Connect observability platforms with incident management, ticketing, and CI/CD systems (e.g., Jira, Jenkins, GitHub).
  • Lead system reliability efforts through SLO/SLI definitions, service health modeling, and performance analytics.
  • Own and improve CI/CD pipelines, ensuring automation is resilient and deployments are low-risk and high-confidence.
  • Collaborate across engineering and operations to embed observability into the SDLC and improve service ownership.
  • Collaborate with SRE and DevOps teams to manage infrastructure-as-code and support container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).
  • Monitor, debug, and resolve platform performance issues at both application and infrastructure levels.
  • Design, develop, and maintain systems that consume and process webhook events from platforms such as Bitbucket, GitHub, Stripe, and AWS.
  • Serve as a technical leader and advocate, mentoring team members and influencing architectural direction.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for performance, uptime, and integration enhancements across systems.

Qualifications

What You Bring:

  • 7+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering roles with a focus on observability and automation.
  • Strong experience with observability and monitoring tools: New Relic, Grafana, Splunk, etc.
  • Proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, and tooling.
  • Extensive experience integrating systems and tools using APIs—fetching, transforming, and representing data across platforms.
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD principles and tooling (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
  • Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Hands-on experience managing containerized environments and infrastructure orchestration.
  • Experience with systems handling event-driven architectures, particularly consuming and processing webhook events.
  • Strong understanding of service health, distributed systems, and failure modes.
  • Ability to lead, influence, and drive initiatives from concept to execution.
  • Excellent communication skills and a strategic mindset—you see how pieces fit into the larger puzzle.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Kubernetes and containerized environments.
  • Familiarity with service meshes, API gateways, and distributed tracing (OpenTelemetry).
  • Experience integrating alerting, logging, and ticketing workflows across tools.
  • Database experience, especially with time-series databases such as InfluxDB or AWS Timestream.
