Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our procurement team as a Third-Party Warehouse Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process for third-party warehousing services. Your primary focus will be on sourcing, selecting, and negotiating contracts with third-party warehouse providers to ensure efficient and cost-effective storage and distribution of goods. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including logistics, operations, and finance, to meet the company's warehousing needs and drive cost savings.
Responsibilities:
- Vendor Sourcing and Selection:
- Identify and evaluate potential third-party warehouse providers based on the company's warehousing requirements.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify industry trends, best practices, and potential cost savings opportunities.
- Develop and maintain a network of reliable and high-quality third-party warehouse providers.
- Request for Proposal (RFP) Process:
- Prepare and issue RFPs to potential warehouse providers, outlining the company's requirements and expectations.
- Evaluate and analyze vendor proposals, including pricing, capabilities, and service levels.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review and select the most suitable third-party warehouse providers.
- Contract Negotiation and Management:
- Negotiate contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) with selected warehouse providers to ensure favorable terms and conditions.
- Collaborate with legal and finance teams to review and finalize contracts.
- Monitor and manage vendor performance against agreed-upon SLAs and contractual obligations.
- Address any issues or disputes that may arise during the contract period.
- Cost Management and Optimization:
- Analyze and track warehousing costs, including storage fees, handling charges, and transportation costs.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize warehousing expenses.
- Conduct regular cost and performance reviews with third-party warehouse providers to drive continuous improvement.
- Relationship Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for third-party warehouse providers.
- Foster strong and collaborative relationships with vendors to ensure smooth operations and timely issue resolution.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to warehouse providers.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience in procurement or sourcing, preferably in the warehousing or logistics industry.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
- Familiarity with warehousing operations and best practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong negotiation and contract management abilities.
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
- Proficient in using procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards related to warehousing.
