Job Summary:

PayPal's GFP Fraud Risk team is responsible for partnering with global business units to manage a variety of risk of various types, including identity fraud, account takeover, stolen financial fraud, seller fraud, and credit issues. This is an exciting department that plays an important role in contributing PayPal's bottom line financial savings, ensuring safe and secure global business growth, and delivering the best customer experience.
This open opportunity is within the Risk Business Intelligence (BI) team. The BI team addresses key strategic and critical business initiatives. It partners with leaders to develop business cases for potential investments. The team also provides insights and recommendations to ensure smooth execution with cross-functional partners.

Job Description:

Your day to day –

  • High proficiency in technical / data-mining skills and working knowledge of dealing with large volumes of data using tools such as SQL, Python in GCP BigQuery/Hadoop environment.
  • Ability to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in large datasets and strong critical thinking to derive actionable insights from data.
  • Expertise to perform storytelling with data and insights, drive key business decision-making
  • Expertise in A/B testing, hypothesis testing, and statistical significance in supporting initiative and program focus.
  • Experience with business segmentation, customer experience and churn analytics, business growth evaluation.
  • Design, build and maintain dashboards and data visualization through tools like Tableau, Power BI, and Looker.
  • Expertise in predictive modelling, regression, and time-series analysis
  • Ability to translated technical findings into business recommendations and working with business partners to implement.
  • Attention to details and ensuring work outcome accuracy and reliability

What do you need to bring-

  • Master’s degree in related field and 10+ years related professional work experience (Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, Operations Research, etc.)
  • 5+ year of experience as people manager
  • Understanding of Fraud/Credit risk in the financial industry, experience with Payment risk preferred
  • Good time and program management, can handle multiple projects or action items at the same time with challenging deadlines.
  • Well-developed research and analytical skills with good problem solving and lateral thinking ability
  • Working knowledge of SQL, Python, or other programming languages. Experience with GCP Big Query,
