We are seeking an expereinced Director, Production to join our team.This visible leadership role is responsible for leading the Production teams that are responsible for the planning and assembly of specialized capital equipment. 

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities Listed Below – Compensation and position level commensurate with education and experience.

  • Manage in alignment with our Company Values. Lead with the intent to create a respectful and healthy work culture that embraces inclusion. Create awareness in others of their abilities; involve others and share authority in planning and decision-making; challenge the Team and provide support by allowing them to take appropriate risks.
  • Develop and maintain a culture within Production that demands and rewards team collaboration within the Production team and with all groups at Calspan.
  • Assume full ownership and accountability for the Production team (Procurement, ERP, Logistics, Assembly, and Inspection). Establish and maintain methods to deliver excellence in regard to product quality and on-time delivery.
  • Drive productivity improvement activities that reduce cost and reduce cycle time.
  • Establish an environment of continuous improvement that drives the team toward achieving industry benchmarks in efficiency and operational sophistication.
  • Work closely with the Operations leadership team to review the current operational situation, discuss the impact of incoming orders and make the necessary preparations.

Qualifications

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Bachelors/Masters Degree in related discipline
  • 10+ years in related discipline
  • Previous experience in senior leadership position or;
  • A combination of education and experience equivalent to above

 Preferred Knowledge / Ability:

  • Excellent communicator with ability to motivate and influence multifunctional teams.
  • Experience within a fabrication or assembly operation, preferably in a low-volume, high-mix environment.
  • Experience with ERP, materials planning, inventory management, and logistics.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm and lead within a dynamic environment.
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Systemic thinker with a success-oriented mindset.
