About You and this Role

As a Maintenance Group Leader (MGL) for Dow, you will provide administrative people leadership support to maintenance personnel. You will have shared responsibility and accountability for the plant assets, personnel, and achievement of the plant related business goals. You will function as a liaison to supplement and support the Maintenance Activity Coordinator (MAC) role to ensure the Global Maintenance Work Process has been implemented and is aligned with Environmental Health & Safety, Maintenance Productivity, and Improve Plant objectives and goals.

Responsibilities

  • Significant involvement in EH&S engagement, particularly in the field and in the areas of personal safety and compliance.
  • A clear focus will exist on creating a Highly Reliable Organizational culture and the elimination of unplanned events by implementing reliability and maintenance services and solutions.
  • Completes the requirements of the Performance Management Process for Maintenance direct reports which is leveraged to support meaningful opportunities for leader/employee engagement.  This includes coaching and career development.
  • Performs appropriate Maintenance Functional roles as determined by plant and site.
  • Acts as a primary back-up to the Maintenance Leader.
  • Will have responsibilities that include implementation and ongoing support of the Maintenance Procedure Use Policy (PUP) at the facility, what includes Each maintenance organization shall implement a procedure use policy – Either a standalone PUP or as part of a common site or facility PUP and ensures that all maintenance employees comply with all applicable elements of the Maintenance Procedure Use Policy.
  • Encourages team member to develop and utilize a development plan.
  • Plans and allocates maintenance resources on a quarterly and higher level (depending on the design of the organization) together with Maintenance Leader to meet or exceed Strategy Goals & Objectives.

This MGL role will support the MAC role to ensure effective application of the Global Maintenance Work Process:

  • Ensure the work process is effectively implemented, maintained, and delivering maximum value.
  • Ensures that all work process Roles (Operations and Maintenance) understand the Global Maintenance Work Process.
  • Budgeting and costs evaluation.
  • Goal alignment for work processes and measurements.
  • Maintenance Service Level Agreements between Maintenance and the Production units.
  • Key Performance Indicators with focus on Performance Management Implementation/Effectiveness.
  • Ensures seamless integration with related Make Product organizations.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant ranking.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience (i.e. engineering, maintenance, reliability, manufacturing, etc.).
  • Ability to work comfortably and safely at elevated heights. Candidates must be familiar with, or willing to undergo training in, the proper usage and maintenance of safety equipment to ensure safe movement and operations at heights.
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.  No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

  • Proven strong influential leadership skills in previous areas of responsibility
  • Demonstrate knowledge on Global Maintenance Work Process, including touch points with GPM, Turnaround, MRO, Maintenance Excellence KPIs, and Make Product (Improve Plant and Anticipate & Resolve).
  • Continuous Improvement focused
