Director of Community Engagement

The Director of Community Engagement is a leadership position at InsuranceAUM.com, working in close partnership with the Executive Director to grow and steward the organization’s membership community. This role oversees community-facing operations that shape the experience of InsuranceAUM’s members, sponsors, and key industry stakeholders. This includes existing member engagement, new member recruitment, sponsor relationship development, and cultivation of the broader insurance investment community.

The Director will place particular emphasis on deepening relationships with Chief Investment Officers and other investment and finance professionals at insurance carriers across both life/health and property/casualty segments, as well as with InsuranceAUM’s sponsor community, comprised primarily of asset management firms.

 

What You’ll Do:

Sponsor & Partner Relations

  1. Serve as a lead relationship owner for InsuranceAUM’s sponsor community, cultivating and strengthening partnerships with asset management firms and other sponsor organizations.
  2. Identify, prospect, and secure new sponsorship opportunities that align with InsuranceAUM’s mission and deliver value to members and sponsors alike.
  3. Partner with the Executive Director to develop sponsorship structures, pricing, and renewal strategies that support long-term revenue growth.
  4. Represent InsuranceAUM at industry conferences, sponsor meetings, and member events to build and sustain high-value relationships.

Membership & Community Growth

  1. Contribute to development and execution of innovative member and community growth and engagement strategies across InsuranceAUM, in close partnership with the Executive Director.
  2. Develop, monitor, and report on metrics for assessing the effectiveness of InsuranceAUM’s membership, community engagement, and communications efforts.
  3. Prospect and develop new membership and community opportunities, with a focus on Chief Investment Officers and other investment and finance professionals at insurance carriers, spanning both life/health and property/casualty organizations.
  4. Strategize and implement business development strategies to ensure InsuranceAUM meets its objectives by growing and retaining its membership community. Focus on opportunities where InsuranceAUM can have the most impact for member organizations and the industry, while garnering significant revenue opportunities for the organization.
  5. Ensure all functions – content, events, marketing, and operations – are coordinating with each other to create a seamless member and community experience.

Events & Member Experience

  1. Partner with the Executive Director on the strategy and content of InsuranceAUM’s signature events, including the Insurance Investment Executives’ Annual Meeting and its regional and topical forums, ensuring a seamless experience for members and sponsors.
  2. Collaborate cross-functionally with content, marketing, and operations teams to align event, editorial, and community programming with member and sponsor priorities.

Leadership

  1. Cultivate a positive workplace environment through effective leadership, relationships, and empowerment of employees. Train, develop, and manage colleagues to achieve organizational goals through effective, independent, and interdependent contributions.
  2. Serve as a trusted strategic partner to the Executive Director, contributing to organizational planning and stepping in to lead on the Executive Director’s behalf as needed.
  3. Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.

 

 

What We’re Looking For:

  1. Undergraduate degree required. Graduate degree preferred.
  2. 10+ years of membership, community engagement, or related experience required. Experience in a membership organ
