About the role

Description

The Facilities Technician performs maintenance and support services for the buildings and grounds of Southwest Christian School, as directed by the Facilities Supervisor.


Essential Functions:

  • Abides by the policies and guidelines contained in the SCS Employee Handbook
  • Participates in activities that help build a faith community on the campus
  • Perform basic building and grounds maintenance
  • Keeps logs of maintenance work as directed by the Supervisor
  • Sets up furniture/equipment for events that take place at the School
  • May be required to respond to emergencies on a 24-hour basis
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license
  • A minimum of two years prior related experience is preferred
  • Demonstrates a solid understanding of tools and terminology of the building trades, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • Ability to operate a variety of tools and power equipment

Additionally, the employee will have exposure to a variety of cleaning chemicals. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms above shoulder level. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. Temperatures will vary according to the season and specific work site as work may be performed inside or outside. Work hours require some level of flexibility, including evening and weekend as needs arise. On-call time may be required.
