Head Start Employee Development Specialist

Capital Area Head Start is seeking a full time Employee Development Specialist to join our mission of making a difference in the lives of children, empowering parents, and strengthening families.

As an Employee Development Specialist, you will coordinate employee training and development activities to ensure employees are receiving training needed to meet program requirements and opportunities to advance professional development. This position facilitates new employee orientation activities, enters and maintains education and training data, and provides guidance and assistance in preparing and delivering high quality educational opportunities.

Employee Development Specialist earn a minimum of $19.53 per hour. Schedules are based on the school year and include 1725 work hours.  Additional benefits include a competitive benefits package comprised of medical, dental, vision, paid time off, 401K, and more!

Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree in education or related field; An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
• Administrative and data entry experience
• Knowledge of adult learning principles and ability to present to small groups
• Significant knowledge of child development principals, specifically requirements and steps to obtain a Child Development Associate credential
• Intermediate computer skills, ability to use Microsoft Word, Outlook and learn web based systems
• Valid driver’s license and access to properly insured vehicle, or public transportation
• Successful completion of pre-employment process, including Criminal History, MVR, Child Abuse and FBI clearances
• Passion, enthusiasm, creativity, and commitment to make a difference
• Experience in Head Start or Early Head Start is preferred
