Summary
Under general supervision, reviews and processes local business license applications, renewals, and related Revenue Division transactions to ensure compliance with City ordinances. Performs licensing, compliance, inspection, enforcement, revenue processing, and customer service functions related to business licenses, short-term rentals, contractors, vendors, per-job licenses, and other assigned licensing or revenue matters. Researches and assists in licensing unlicensed businesses operating within City limits; calculates fees, processes payments, maintains records, reconciles revenues, coordinates with City departments regarding approvals, permits, inspections, and compliance requirements. Performs field inspections, compliance checks, and enforcement follow-up as assigned or as operational needs require.

Qualifications
Must be physically able to operate an automobile, video equipment, and a variety of automated office machines which includes a computer, typewriter, calculator, copier, fax machine, postage machine, etc. Must be able to exert up to ten pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Performs field enforcement of business license ordinances; conducts audits of business files; makes on-site inspections of new and existing businesses to ensure licensing procedures have been completed; and performs field inspections, compliance checks, and enforcement follow-up for pending licenses, unlicensed businesses, contractors, short-term rentals, sidewalk cafes, coin-operated devices, and other business license ordinance matters as assigned.
Remains aware of new projects and activities that may generate continuing revenue for the City, including advertising, developers, rental properties, short-term rentals, construction activity, contractors, special events, and other business activity that may require licensing or revenue follow-up.
Communicates with business owners, building inspectors, contractors, attorneys, government officials, property owners, developers, property managers, short-term rental owners/operators, permit management companies, other City departments, and the public regarding business license requirements, approvals, renewals, payments, compliance, and enforcement matters.
Reviews contractor, building permit, OpenGov permit tasks, TRC/SUB/Sub-list activity, site plans, plats, zoning, and related development records to identify contractors, property owners, surveyors, engineers, developers, or other businesses that may require a City business license; confirms approval status and coordinates follow-up before inspections or related departmental actions proceed.
Rectifies delinquent business license accounts by researching account status, contacting taxpayers, preparing or assisting with delinquency notices, routing accounts for field follow-up, and documenting collection or compliance activity.
Processes renewal applications for each license year, including assigned business license, short-term rental, out-of-town, per-job, vendor, and related license renewals.
Supports short-term rental licensing and compliance as assigned, including applications, renewals, ownership or property management changes, property sale follow-up, unlicensed short-term rental research, complaint support, customer education, and account updates.
Adds accounts, processes payments, issues payment links, maintains accuracy of business license accounts in licensing software systems, and updates ownership, mailing address, property management/contact information, license status, renewal status, payment status, and supporting documentation as assigned.
