Participates in the development and fulfillment of contract requirements in the purchase or sale/delivery of equipment, materials, products or services. Evaluates contract compliance and advises others on contractual rights and obligations | Requests or approves amendments to contract terms or contract extensions. Prepares bids or requests for proposals (RFPs), including specifications and requirements; negotiates contract terms and participates in the determination of acceptable bids. ***please note: because this role involves collaborative/in-person and independent work, it can take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely for the ideal scenario***Impact of the Role

Essential Functions
- Supervises all activities in the organization's contracts administration function.
- Oversees the preparation and administration of bids, proposals, negotiations, and contracts that follow company policies and legal requirements.
- Supervises the contracts administration staff and guides compliance with complex contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Oversees and develops policies and processes that govern the contract administration staff and provides guidance on contract terms and the assessment of contract proposals.
- Has a strong understanding of the contract life cycle, types of contracts, and applicable government regulations.
- Drives negotiations with suppliers, partners, or customers.
- Leads and directs the work of other employees and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination with concurrence from HR & Senior Leadership.
- Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 5-7 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
- Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree
- Discipline/Major: Business or relevant degree preferred
- Additional certifications: NCMA Certified Professional Contract Manager (CPCM) preferred
- Knowledge, skills & abilities: Oral and written communication skills. Leadership skills. Contract compliance. Contract lifecycle management. Contract negotiation. Contracts management & administration. Contract review. Contracting terms and conditions. Contract management software.
- Other: Government contracts experience preferred. Knowledge of munitions: associated platforms, strategic and tactical systems, and military munitions/platform interface requirements
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
- Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
