Job Description
This expansion role is for a Network Engineer in the Baltimore metro area to perform on-site and project-based consulting with one of our highest-profile national clients. When not required to be on the client site (a day or so per month), you will work from home, but you MUST be commutable to Baltimore, MD, to be considered for this role.
In this role, you will:
- Supporting the client undergoing a technology refresh for their Cisco routers and switches.
- Setting up and Implementing firewall rules in a Checkpoint Firewall environment
- Configure, troubleshoot, and document enterprise networks and related systems.
- Work with change tickets
- Review the technical plan
- Participate in the migration while providing next-day support
- Provide knowledge transfer and informal training to clients
Qualifications
Required:
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) level expertise in Enterprise Infrastructure (formerly Route/Switch)
- Experience implementing firewall rules with Checkpoint firewalls
- Demonstrable experience in the implementation, troubleshooting, and support of large enterprise networks
- Good understanding and practical experience with routing protocols (EIGRP, OSFP, and BGP)
- Must be able to work with end-users, communicate clearly, and meet deadlines.
- Must be a US Citizen AND be able to pass a drug screen and background investigation
Desirable:
- Cisco Firepower experience
- Firewall migration experience
