The Strategic Planning & Business Development Associate provides strategic and analytical support to inform system planning activities, business development, and performance measurement. The position involves collecting, analyzing, and interpreting complex internal and external data, producing actionable insights, and supporting decision making across the system.
 

  • Conduct ongoing environmental and market assessments to identify trends, benchmarks, and growth opportunities in support of system wide and region/service line specific planning. 20%
  • Support business development, strategic planning, program evaluation, and project initiatives with data driven analysis.   15%
  • Develop forecasting models, scenario planning analyses, and market assessments to guide strategy.  15% 
  • Recommend and track performance metrics, including ROI, growth strategies, and operational outcomes.  10%
  • Produce reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate insights effectively to leadership.   10%
  • Assist in developing and monitoring institutional scorecards, performance improvement initiatives, and business plans.

  • Coordinate data collection, reporting, and benchmarking across service lines.  5%
  • Collaborate with system leaders to share findings, promote best practices, and align initiatives.   5%
  • Research best practices, emerging trends, and regulatory changes to support strategic initiatives including but not limited to Certificate of Need and special ad hoc projects.   5%
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.   5%
     

Education and/or Experience Required:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in analytics, business, or related field
  • Experience: 2 years of relevant experience in healthcare strategy, planning, and business development

Education and/or Experience Preferred:

  • Education: Master’s degree in business, healthcare administration, or related field 
  • Experience: Knowledge of healthcare systems, finance, planning, and operational data

License and/or Certification Required:

  • N/A

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of healthcare trends and strategic planning processes gained through relevant experience.

Skills:

  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills with an ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
  • Collaborative interpersonal skills and ability to build effective working relationships across teams. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly and professionally.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and database/forecasting tools (e.g., Sg2, CHIME, Tableau).

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and meet competing deadlines with accuracy.
  • High professionalism, integrity, and ability to handle confidential information.
