Our Internal Audit team is looking for a Business Advisor who will serve as a member of our leadership team. The selected candidate will lead a wide range of management and technical assignments within the function, including establishing operational plans for the function and leading the implementation of strategic goals. Be responsible for providing and leading consultative work of varying complexity in areas such as strategic direction and support, problem resolution, and business planning. May lead or support large, complex project initiatives of strategic importance to the Bank and system audit community, involving cross-functional teams.
How You’ll Make an Impact / Essential Accountabilities
- Uses exceptional analytical and organizational skills, prudent judgement, and decision-making ability to help move the function and leadership team forward and achieve its strategic goals and initiatives.
- Leads the development of function goals and strategic planning implementation and is establishment of operational goals.
- Anticipates leadership and function needs by maintaining awareness of and responding to changing and interconnected variables and emerging risks and trends, asking penetrating questions, and identifying unstated assumptions.
- Reliable sounding board and thought partner for the leader they support and serves as a consultant to Bank and System leadership.
- Leads the significant improvement of existing function process and practices as well as the development of and implementation of new products, processes, standards, or operational plans that impact on the achievement of functional results.
- Uses outstanding interpersonal skills, ability to work with internal and external stakeholders, and influence to lead large, complex project initiatives of strategic importance to the Bank, involving cross-functional teams.
- Cultivates network both within the Bank and across the System to source different opinions and foster more innovation and sense of collaboration.
- Exercises both organizational and political intelligence and able to work swiftly and simultaneously across multiple portfolios and agenda.
- Ensures that department metrics and dashboards are kept up-to-date and provide information needed to effectively manage the function.
- Independently faces and overcomes problems that are difficult and often complex by delivering innovative and effective solutions and coaches others to improve their critical thinking and solution building skills.
- Works on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an analysis of intangibles.
- Effectively prioritizes work actions and follows-up with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Assignments are varied and cover complex subjects with far-reaching impact and require a high level of evaluation, ingenuity, and critical thinking.
- Demonstrates a broad understanding of Bank operations and culture.
- Works with little direction or day-to-day oversight.
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
What Makes You a Great Candidate / Education and Experience
Business Advisor: Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of related work experience
Industry-specific certification may be required.
Business Advisor Specialist: Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 7 years of related work experience
