The Global Merchant and Network Services Technology (GMNST) organization at American Express is responsible for modernizing the payments network to enable next-generation payments products. The team creates flexible merchant platforms to acquire, bill, pay, service and foster innovation, while enabling a payments ecosystem to connect and authenticate parties seamlessly and securely
American Express is making strategic investments in new card network products and platforms to allow the company to meet its ambitious global growth agenda. Card Network platform is a distributed near real time low latency system that is always available and highly resilient, processing transactions from around the world 24x7, 365 days a year. American Express Global Card Network Platform authorizes and processes all of the company’s customer card transactions.
Responsibilities:
In this role, you will lead the design and implementation of the technical project management office for GMNST, responsible for establishing enterprise aligned and best-in-class project governance frameworks, processes and tooling, to enable high quality delivery of small to large, simple to highly complex, technology initiatives. You will establish the playbook and framework that creates a model project management practice that will drive consistent and effective delivery for the organization. This position is a 3-month temporary work assignment.
Key Responsibilities
Establishes the lean, repeatable playbook and framework for delivering high-impact technology-focused projects, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and project goals
Collaborates and co-creates with product and the business teams to establish PMO practices to align technology initiatives with business objectives
Defines project resourcing framework, ensuring optimal utilization across multiple high-complexity projects and balancing workload
