Codexis, a biotechnology company based in Redwood City, CA, is looking to hire a Marketing Director.
 Codexis is a leading enzyme engineering company leveraging its proprietary CodeEvolver® technology platform to discover, develop and enhance novel, high-performance enzymes and other classes of proteins. Codexis enzymes solve for real-world challenges associated with small molecule pharmaceuticals manufacturing and nucleic acid synthesis. The Company is currently developing its proprietary ECO Synthesis™ platform to enable the scaled manufacture of RNAi therapeutics through an enzymatic route. Codexis enzymes can drive improvements, such as higher yields, reduced energy usage and waste generation, improve efficiency in manufacturing and greater sensitivity in genomic and diagnostic applications.

About the Opportunity: The Marketing Director is responsible for creating and executing the strategic marketing and communication plan. This role will be based in Redwood City, CA. If any of the below describes you, we would love to meet you!

In this role you will be responsible for:

• Create and execute strategic marketing and communication plan which supports the business's strategic goals. 
• Ability to manage both internal and external customers and partners. 
• Build and manage marketing budget. 
• Partner with key leaders in other functions to ensure alignment of Codexis' business and commercialization strategies, uncover and prioritize market insights, challenges, barriers and solutions. 
• Ensure marketing initiatives are proactive, effective and engaging. 
• Interface with business development, account management, technical operations and program management to ensure the needs of the customers are being met.
• Communicate with all functional support groups along with leadership team to ensure all stake holders are aligned.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• BS, BA, MS, MA in marketing, advertising, or relevant field.
• Experience in pharmaceutical/biotech CDMO services.
• Demonstrated track record of working with outside agencies/partners.
• Minimum of 10 years marketing experience.
• Ability to travel both internationally and domestically.

Additional experience that would be valuable for this role includes:

• Comfortable working in a high paced dynamic environment.

CODEXIS PAY TRANSPARENCY: The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in Redwood City is $195,000 to $244,000. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. Codexis is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states​.
