About the Role
Integrated Business Planning within SAP is a key transformational initiative in successful global companies. IBP drives forecast accuracy, constraint demand planning and scenario planning from end-to-end. It will allow HARMAN to increase profitability and efficiencies as well as time to market. In order to elevate HARMAN’s capabilities and improved performance, we are implementing a state of the art Global Demand Planning in our SAP IBP Planning system.
This position will be the owner and driver of global process standardization on the Demand Planning (unconstraint) from all aspects beginning with aligning to business process, global automotive business requirements, tool selection, and daily operations. The Sr. Director, Demand Planning will be responsible for driving global process and culture change, implementing best in class processes and ensuring that the key stakeholders are participating in the continuous improvement activities.

This position will have 6 Direct Reports.
What You Will Do
- Demand Planning: Global responsibility and ownership of the Global Process Standardization and Process Excellence utilizing the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) System; for Connected Car and Car Audio.
- Drive Harman to a successful implementation of the IBP System with near 100% maturity readiness levels; in delivering an entirely scalable and usable system at departmental, project, program and business level based on target group expectations.
- Functions as a Change Agent who drives Continuous Improvements in using the IBP System as a single source of business planning within Harman and implementing best practices across the business.
- Lead the continuous enhancement the Global IBP structure working cross functionally with all stakeholders including but not limited to SIOP, Finance, IT, Production, procurement, AME-s, CBU-s, MBU-s etc.
- Champions cross functional efforts in identifying inefficient manual processes within the business to incorporate them within the IBP System.
- Provide strategic decision triggers to Executive Leadership by developing Scenario Based Models within the IBP System to analyze the financial impact of potential changes to demand planning in the future.
- Lead the analysis of Unconstraints (OEM demand signals short via EDI & mid/long via other channels) using the IBP System and working with stakeholders for risk mitigation.
- Integrate Unconstraints inputs within the monthly Consensus Demand Planning Process to provide a Unconstrained Demand Plan to the business.
- Drive cross functional reporting governance and tools to continuously improve reporting mechanisms in place (e.g. data quality, governance, processes and tools) ensuring they are fit to purpose, easy to update and provide the right level of information.
- Incorporate New Product and End-of-life planning within the IBP system.
- Develop a qualified team of IBP Experts across Harman Globally to ensure a standardized and compliant use of the IBP system across Harman with clear definitions of roles, responsibility and accountability.
- As required, schedules and leads webinars to train Harman associates on tools, systems and processes.
What You Need
- 10+ years of planning process and/or materials and/or supply chain management experience
- Significant achievements in a global supply chain role
- Experience in handling multiple projects / initiatives simultaneously and executing to completion
- Bachelors degree or equivalent in Business, Engineering/Information Technology or related technical discipline
- PMP from PMI

- Usage of IBP in demand panning environment
- Excellent communication skills – written, verbal, and presentation.
- Negotiation and incident management skills. Works well under pressure and strives for mutually beneficial solutions.
- Having a proactive, goal oriented approach to decision making.
- High proficiency in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
- Data management and analysis in SAP/Excel environment.
- Excellent team player – can effectively work with all levels of a global matrixed organization.
- Advanced understanding of manufacturing & finance processes and supply chain operations.
