Indigent Defense Clerk - Part-Time - Administrative Court Services - Indigent Defense

• Magistrate Court is performed at the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Department courtroom daily.
• Prepare arrest files with proper forms for defendant and judge. 
• Interview defendants while in custody to determine financial status for indigent defense appointments. 
• Assist judge with questions, copies, forms or as needed. 
• Provides assistance for data collection, data entry and validation of data concerning the Indigent Defense Program. 
• Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers. 

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Good computer and typing skills. 
• Good verbal and written communication skills. 
• Flexible with magistrate hours. 
• Good interpersonal and organizational skills and ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees and elected officials. 
• Ability to complete assigned projects.   
• REQUIRED TO WORK EVERY WEEKEND AND HOLIDAY.  

SALARY: Part-Time, $20.00 per hour, up to 29 hours per week
