Student Financial Advisor Opportunity

Tallahassee State College is excited to announce a full-time opening for the position of Student Financial Advisor – P05155 in Financial Aid Office. We’re looking for someone who shares our commitment to fostering a vibrant campus community. 

What You’ll Do
As Student Financial Advisor, you’ll play a key role in counseling students and parents in person, or by phone and email concerning financial aid situations.

Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for: 

• Counseling students and parents regarding the application process for Federal Student Aid. Respond to student inquiries, research and resolve problems related to application requirements, conflict resolution, timing of awards and disbursement. 
• Providing backup for daily processes.
• Receiving and evaluating all financial aid documents for accuracy and completeness.  Inputs financial aid data into Financier software.    

Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a candidate who brings not only technical expertise but also a passion for education and student success. Our ideal candidate will have:

• High school diploma or its equivalent.  The associate’s degree is preferred and may substitute for two years of the required experience.
• four years of clerical experience, preferably in financial aid, registration, and/or counseling; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Hours:  8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M., Monday ‑ Friday
