About the role

 

The Associate I, Medical Assets is responsible for the support of the medical facilities programs, projects, and ship’s requests. 

 

This role is responsible for supporting global biomedical technician visits, receiving and reviewing biomedical reports, ensuring proper documentation retention, procurement of parts, and asset replacements. 

The Medical Facilities Associate I should have knowledge of supply chain processes and logistics.  They will interact daily with shipboard medical staff, medical suppliers, and other company stakeholders such as supply chain, sourcing, port agents and freight forwarders. 

 

This role supports all brands of the Carnival Corporation which comprises nine brands with approximately 95 ships carrying over 12 million guests annually and employing over 100,000 team members. This role is required to be in office in order to support Medical Maintenance Depot operations within their appropriate scope.

 

Essential Functions:

Medical Facilities Support 

  • Respond to shipboard requests in a timely manner.

  • Track and record all requests, categorize by level of urgency, and present any escalated matters to management team.

  • Evaluate and prioritize equipment requests and recommend timely, comprehensive, cost effective and practical solutions. 

  • Communicate with other departments and/or vendors to coordinate necessary logistics associated with movement of products and orders.

  • Monitor open equipment work orders and resolution.

  • Assist with the oversight of Medical Oxygen program that includes addressing ships' requests, evaluation and monitorization.

  • Support in-house Medical Maintenance Depot with receiving, packing, and shipping tasks while maintaining accurate records of actions taken under supervision of senior team leaders. 

Medical Equipment and Maintenance

  • Accurately complete tasks associated to core responsibilities, to research and facilitate the procurement of medical equipment and services.

  • Assist with preventative maintenance program as it relates to coordinating visits, action on post-visit recommendations, and finalizing preventative maintenance reports.

  • Maintain thorough and accurate records associated with assigned areas of medical facilities responsibilities (e.g., service reports and certificates, equipment tracking, and purchase orders) 

  • Provide comprehensive support to Medical Facilities as directed

Vendor Relations

  • Assist with order inquiries and requests, issue purchase orders and monitor receiving of product(s).

  • Evaluate and choose appropriate suppliers based on quality of product, cost effectiveness and lead times.

  • Maintain effective working relationships with logistical teams (e.g. warehouse personnel, freight forwarding companies, port agents, and shipboard receiving teams.

Analytics/Reporting

  • Assist management with generating and reporting medical asset data inclusive of equipment age, usage patterns and asset values.

  • Continuously monitor past and current data to track inventory levels and identify utilization patterns.

  • Oversee and keep up to date the department master equipment list.

  • Other analytics tasks assigned by management.

Vendor Coordination & Service Partner Management

  • Coordinate with OEMs and third-party vendors for advanced repairs, technical support, and parts procurement.

  • Monitor vendor performance and escalating issues impacting equipment reliability or turnaround times.

  • Support warranty recovery,
