Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join our dynamic team in Huntsville, AL.
Position Responsibilities:
Experienced Level 3
Represents Quality function on team activities to integrate contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation
Provides Quality interpretation of requirements
Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for small programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements
Conducts capability assessments and process validations to support supplier selection activities. Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs
Assists in development of new standards repairs for non-conformances. Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.
Performs analysis, tests and process audits to ensure manufacturing and test readiness
Recommends corrective actions to address non-conformances
Performs benchmarking and other forms of analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved
Apply advanced Supplier Quality prevention tools including Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Lean and Six Sigma
Lead cross-functional Requirements Reviews and Capability Assessments at BDS suppliers
Assist with the evaluation of new technology and manufacturing process deployment readiness at suppliers. Perform special capability approvals to ensure technical readiness, capability and supplier process controls are established
Works under general direction
Senior Level 4
Leads integration of contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation.
Provides interpretation of complex requirements.
Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for large programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.
Develops Quality criteria to support supplier selection activities.
Leads various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs.
Develops and selects methods for analysis, testing and audit to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.
Assists in development of new standards repairs for non-conformances. Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.
Develops and implements corrective actions.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
3+ years RCCA experience
3+ years of experience in the defense or aerospace industry
3+ years of experience leading or managing projects and/or teams
Experience presenting technical briefings to various audiences
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience working with AS9100 and/or similar QMS standard
Certified Quality Manager or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) Certifications
3+ years of experience working closely with other engineering disciplines in an integrated team environment
5+ years of experience in manufacturing quality assurance or supplier quality related roles
