About the role

• You will lead financial planning & analysis (FP&A), modeling, and scenario planning to support data-driven decisions across SewerAI. As Director of Finance, you’ll partner closely with GTM leadership (Sales, Marketing, Customer Success), Product, and Operations to translate strategy into actionable plans and forecasts. You’ll own scalable processes for budgeting, audits, tax compliance, and reporting—while building dashboards, leading performance reviews, and supporting strategic initiatives like fundraising, pricing pilots, and international expansion.

• This is a hybrid position. Candidates must reside in the local area and are required to work from the office at least two days per week, specifically on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Team members are also encouraged to make additional use of the office on other days throughout the week, based on their preference.

What you'll do

• Strategic Planning & Modeling: Lead annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and multi-year financial modeling. Build driver-based models to stress-test assumptions (e.g., CAC payback, LTV, retention).
• Scenario Analysis: Develop 'what-if' analyses to evaluate product launches, pricing changes, market entry, funding rounds, and cost-structure optimization.
• GTM Partnership: Serve as an embedded finance partner to Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success—define KPIs, create commission/quota models, and lead recurring business performance reviews.
• Dashboards & Reporting: Build self-service dashboards (e.g., Tableau, Looker, PowerBI) for real-time insights into ARR, pipeline, churn, and unit economics.
• Board & Investor Reporting: Prepare board materials, monthly financial packages, and investor updates. Clearly communicate performance vs. plan and strategic risks/opportunities.
• Financial Audits & Tax Compliance: Oversee annual financial audits, coordinate with external auditors, and ensure timely and accurate tax filings in partnership with external tax advisors. Maintain GAAP-compliant financials and readiness for due diligence.
• Process & Automation: Implement and improve scalable FP&A processes and systems to enhance reporting, planning accuracy, and data quality.
• Cross-Functional Projects: Support initiatives such as fundraising diligence, pricing pilots, strategic vendor reviews, and international expansion planning.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
• Experience: 5+ years in FP&A, corporate finance, or business analytics roles—preferably at B2B SaaS companies from seed to Series C stage.
• Audit & Tax Acumen: Familiarity with audit processes, working with external auditors, and managing tax filings. Knowledge of GAAP and ASC 606 is a plus.
• Analytical Expertise: Strong financial modeling skills, scenario planning, and forecasting abilities. Expert in Excel and financial planning tools.
• GTM Support: Proven experience supporting Sales and Marketing through compensation modeling, pipeline analysis, and bookings forecasting.
• Tech Fluency: Proficient in business intelligence tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, PowerBI); experience with Salesforce data a plus.
• Communication & Leadership: Able to distill complex financial insights for executive and board audiences. Experience managing a small finance team preferred.
• Agility: Comfortable in fast-paced, ambiguous environments. A builder mindset who
