We have an outstanding opportunity for a Manager, Global Chemical Substances for the Collins Aerospace Enterprise Global Chemical Substances Organization (GCSO).  This role will function as a core member with the GCSO, supporting the development and maintenance of systems and processes for the continuity and growth of the business, utilizing core chemical compliance and product stewardship principles.  The Global Chemical Manager will actively support the Strategic Business Unit (SBU) functions to integrate material and product compliance and risk management controls during all phases of product development, commercialization, and portfolio maintenance.  This position will report to the Director, Global Chemical Substances Organization and is 100% remote.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide highly specialized regulatory compliance and product stewardship review and assessment to all Strategic Business Units.  Ensure the coordination and effective communication with SBU Program Managers, and will partner with Enterprise Engineering, Contracts, Employee Health & Safety, Supply Chain, and Environmental Sustainability for multiple topics, as directed by management.

  • Support SBUs and other partners as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and project lead.

  • Analyze, identify, and communicate risks associated with raw materials and product formulations.

  • Actively support the development and maintenance of an organizational knowledgebase for all substance and product concerns.

  • Respond to internal/external information requests related to chemical regulatory issues.

  • Actively support the design, implementation, and maintenance of tools, processes, and systems to ensure compliance with global chemical control legislation (including US EPA TSCA, EU REACH & CLP, UK REACH, Canada CMP, among others).

  • Develop and conduct required stakeholder training on chemical compliance and product stewardship issues.

  • Support or lead process improvement projects and EHS strategic initiatives using internal CORE framework and tools.

  • Must be willing and able to travel 10% of the time

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience 

  • 2+ Years of direct experience reviewing and assessing chemical control legislation/regulation, and interacting with Global Competent Authorities and NGOs.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • 5+ years experience in chemical and/or discrete manufacturing under a formal product regulatory discipline.

  • Project management experience with the ability to handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.

  • Experience with (Microsoft Office Suite, SAP, Regulatory Monitoring and Stewardship Software Tools).

  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
