Surveyor I - Pay Grade 9 - $25.70 - $32.13/hr.

Surveyor II - Pay Grade 11 - $32.19 - $40.24/hr.

Position Summary

 

Surveyor I - The incumbent assists in conducting surveys and collecting field data for use in the engineering design and monitoring of NPPD facilities in addition to providing construction staking for various projects. The incumbent also functions as a technical resource and generates design drawings, maps, plats, and legal documents, and performs the computation of survey data to support design criteria. This position requires frequent overnight travel for extended periods of time.

 

Surveyor II, III - Conducts surveys and collects other field data for use in the engineering design and monitoring of NPPD facilities in addition to providing construction staking for various projects. The incumbent also functions as a technical resource and generates design drawings, maps, plats, and legal documents, and performs the computation of survey data to support design criteria. The Surveyor II will perform as crew chief for project work at the direction of the management team. This position requires frequent overnight travel for extended periods of time.

 

Education, Training and Experience

 

Surveyor I - Associate of applied science degree with emphasis on surveying is preferred (OR) completion of a survey specific training correspondence course (OR) high school diploma/GED plus 3 years’ experience as an assistant under a Registered Land Surveyor. Familiarity with the use of AutoCAD and Survey software.

 

Surveyor II - Associate of applied science degree with emphasis on surveying (OR) completion of a survey specific training correspondence course (OR) high school diploma/GED plus 3 years’ experience as an assistant under a Registered Land Surveyor and qualified to be in responsible charge of conducting field surveys related to work such as earthwork quantities, topography, legal land surveys, electric line surveys, monitoring surveys, and construction staking. Additionally, the experience shall include computing field data, preparing drawings such as cross-sections, contour maps and plats, performing record research, and generating legal descriptions. Experience with the use of AutoCAD and Survey software is required.

 

Surveyor III - Associate of applied science degree with emphasis on surveying (OR) completion of a survey specific training correspondence course (OR) high school diploma/GED plus 7 years’ experience as an assistant under a Registered Land Surveyor and qualified to be in responsible charge of conducting field surveys related to work such as earthwork quantities, topography, legal land surveys, electric line surveys, monitoring surveys and construction staking.
