Senior Technical Business Analyst - Payments - Nenagh Based

Overview

Join Expleo’s high‑performance Business Analysis practice as a senior Enterprise/Technical Analyst delivering strategic initiatives in card‑present payments with a focus on Android POS terminals. You will lead end‑to‑end requirements, act as a subject‑matter expert (SME) for terminal configurations and application requirements, and own the product backlog within Agile teams. This role blends product/backlog leadership, business analysis, and hands‑on technical analysis to drive on‑time, on‑budget outcomes using Expleo’s frameworks, tools, and governance.  This role is fully onsite in Nenagh, Co. Tipperary.

 

 

Responsibilities

Product & Business Analysis

• Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business priorities and stakeholder expectations.
• Define and refine user stories with clear acceptance criteria; focus on business outcomes and customer experience.
• Lead end‑to‑end requirements definition for next‑generation in‑store payment acceptance solutions.
• Gather and validate business requirements; produce Business Requirements Specifications (BRS) and supporting artefacts.
• Run workshops to elicit detailed business, functional, and non‑functional requirements.
• Map end‑to‑end business processes and implement process/technology improvements aligned to objectives.

Technical Analysis – Android POS Terminals

• Act as SME within the technical product team for POS terminal configuration and application requirements (Android POS).
• Conduct detailed product and technical analysis to define user stories; lead refinement and sprint planning.
• Ensure requirements are clear, testable, and implementation‑ready for engineering and QA teams.
• Anticipate post‑production implications and ensure operational readiness (support, rollout, client adoption).
• Minimize rework and reduce iterations by driving clarity and early alignment; streamline sign‑off.

Qualifications

• Relevant third‑level qualification or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3+ years as a Business/IT Analyst in Payments, POS terminals, POS acquiring, or fintech; 5+ years preferred for the senior grade.
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum and demonstrable backlog management experience.
• Proven ability to translate customer needs into clear product features and processes and prioritise effectively.

Experience

• Hands‑on Agile delivery with backlog ownership and iteration planning.
• Practical application of business analysis methodologies and awareness of emerging technologies in payments.
• Familiarity with payment ecosystems, Android POS terminals, and acquiring processes (strong advantage).
• Experience applying problem‑solving methodologies to diagnose and resolve operational issues.
• Ability to provide technical guidance and resolve BA/requirements queries for junior colleagues.
• Highly proficient in MS Excel (advanced user), PowerPoint, and Word; skilled with Visio.
• Proficient with Jira and Confluence for backlog and workflow management; experience with project control tools for planning, scheduling, and tracking.
