Job Summary:The Arizona Department of Corrections Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking a professional leader to play a vital role as an Administrative Assistant in our Warrants Services and Hearing Unit. This position is also responsible for processing all warrants within community corrections to include entry of wanted person in the Arizona Criminal Justice Information System (ACJIS) and/or the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) system for community supervision, parole and interstate compact violators, entry of offender identification, violation/arrest information into required databases and the Arizona Correctional Information System (ACIS). The Administrative Assistant III will also make required notifications, coordinate transportation and return of violators to Arizona that are being housed in various other jurisdictions.
Job Duties:- Confirms the validity of ADCRR warrants to various jurisdictions and law enforcement agencies
- Clears warrants from ACIJS/NCIC upon arrest and removal of the CPSR for ACJIS/NCIC once the inmate is returned to ADCRR custody
- Places and removes holds for community reentry offenders being held at various other jurisdictions
- Entry of violation/arrest information into required databases and ACIS
- Enters wanted individuals in to the ACJIS/NCIC system for community supervision, parole and Interstate compact violators
- Enters Convicted Persons Supervised Release (CPSR) into the ACJIS/NCIC system for inmate released on half of deport status
- Conducts initial reviews of warrants for prioritization and service accuracy
- Coordinates, prepares and organizes warrant delivery list for the Board of Executive Clemency (BOEC)
- Accurately maintains Warrant and Hearings Unit files
- Prepares WSHU files for upcoming hearings based on the schedule set by the BOEC
- Functions as a liaison coordinating efforts between the BOEC and ADCRR
- Receives phone calls from the public, attorneys, inmates/family members and other jurisdictions and provides information or direction appropriate to the request
- Generates reports, answers correspondence, conducts database audit to verify warrant tracking and accuracy of information to ensure due process
- Collects and records statistical information
- Distributes mail
- Special projects as assigned
- Other duties as assigned related to the position
Knowledge of:
- Arizona Revised Statues affecting release eligibility calculations
- Due process
- Court rulings and federal laws
- ADCRR policies and procedures impacting release eligibility criteria and release processing
- ADCRR organization structure and functions of the BOEC
Skill in:
- Interpretation, analysis and application of ADCRR policies and procedures impacting release eligibility as it relates to BOEC revocation hearing
- Verbal and written communication
- Operating office equipment
- Google and Microsoft products
- Entering and retrieving data
Ability to:
- Analyze inmate sentence structure and time computation to determine statutory release eligibility as it relates to violations of condition of supervision, abscond status and revocation hearing
- Learn and use the Arizona Correctional Information System (ACIS)
- Multi-task with a large volume of work
- Interpret legal terminology and documents
- Two (2) years of experie
