Department Overview
The Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Department is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our associates, defining and implementing our corporate climate impact reduction strategy, managing environmental remediation activities, and providing governance of our supply chain practices related to corporate responsibility.
Job Description
Note: Candidate must be local to Chicagoland area - this will be a hybrid role which will require you to be in the office at least 1 day per week.
Overview:
This role supports the development and implementation of climate impact reduction strategy and plans for the company. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about climate change and circular economy; with strong subject-matter expertise on issues related to climate change, GHG emissions, circular economy, and sustainability. A major area of focus will be Carbon Footprint measuring and reporting, in accordance with international standards. The ideal candidate will have experience tracking GHG emissions for many types of activities and products, including electronic devices and software, and experience with Product Life Cycle Assessments.
Responsibilities:
Work with Supply Chain and Product Engineering teams to understand and quantify the Carbon Footprint of their activities and products (hardware, software and services)
Provide training and guidance to staff on sustainable practices
Support business teams with ideas, thought leadership, and strategies to accelerate the decarbonization and circularity of their products (hardware, software and services)
Manage data gathering and calculations related to MSI’s Carbon Footprint
Help to establish short, medium, and long-term targets related to MSI’s climate impact reduction commitments and other sustainability goals
Drive implementation of other sustainability initiatives as needed, including regular reporting & communication
Coordinate responses to customer surveys and questionnaires related to sustainability, such as CDP
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
Project / Program Management experience
Familiarity with the International Greenhouse Gas protocol
Understanding product life cycle assessment tools and the application of life cycle analysis to business decision-making
Ability to connect with people, build teams and networks, and communicate effectively with different stakeholders to bring alignment and support

Basic Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a business, science, engineering or environmental discipline
7+ years of professional experience in sustainability or an engineering field
