What You Will Do:

Raytheon is seeking a Sr. Operations Manufacturing Engineer to provide engineering support and expertise to the Forest Consolidated Manufacturing Center to ensure hardware is assembled properly per all drawing requirements.

In this role, you’ll provide education and knowledge on the use of manufacturing resources to create instructions to assemble the product. You’ll also manage processes with minimal oversight and provide measurable input regarding new products, processes or standards in operational plans to meet customer integrations and/or objectives.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Leading manufacturing engineering initiatives within assigned work center(s) within the Forest Manufacturing Site.
  • Leading and/or participating in Root Cause analysis and CORE initiatives
  • Actively pursuing methods and processes to improve overall Quality of our product
  • Reviewing and dispositioning hardware as required to maintain production process flow.
  • Creating, modifying and maintaining assembly instructions, routers and process control documents.
  • Lead and mentor other engineers at the site.

The position works in a SCIF environment.

This job is posted as ONSITE, and is based at Forest, MS facility.


Qualifications You Must Have: 

  • Typically Requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and minimum 5 years of relevant experience. 
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in any of the following: failure analysis, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions 
  • Ability to work on programs requiring special program access

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience with Six Sigma methodology (CORE) and/or tools such as lean manufacturing, diagnostic, process optimization and continuous improvement 
  • Working knowledge of hardware assembly, torque controls, analyzing assembly tolerance stack up, Military and Commercial Standards, Materials and Process Specifications.
  • Experience with modeling in Creo, or SolidWorks as well as reading and interpreting Engineering drawings. 
  • Ability to communicate issues in a clear and concise manner to other teams in the organization. 
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities. 
  • Ability to collaborate and team with multiple internal functions and external organizations to provide best value solutions to our customers 
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance
