Web Engineer - Podcast

The Podcast Mission is the product and technology team at Spotify responsible for building the best tools for podcast creators. We own the platforms, tools, and features that deliver a great creator experience, allowing podcasters to host (for free!), create, and distribute their episodes while making money from their art and growing and engaging with their audience. Within the Podcast Mission, this team is responsible for creating delightful and productive developer experiences - empowering engineers to do their work quickly and confidently. With the toolset, architecture, and infrastructure this team puts in place, every engineer should feel empowered, being able to focus on delighting creators and elevating our platform.
We are looking for thoughtful and talented engineers to join this team and help build tools that hundreds of thousands of podcast creators use every month, powering 80% of all new podcasts globally. You will join a tight-knit and collaborative team, continuously improving our engineering practices, helping each other grow, and delivering the best technology for our creators.

What You'll Do

• Work on a cross-functional team of web and backend engineers to shape how we deliver the Spotify for Podcasters web experience to creators.
• Build best-in-class infrastructure and tooling to support the technical needs of the Podcast Mission.
• Focus on modernizing our tech stack, standardizing frameworks, and providing novel ways to scale both the performance of our apps and the productivity of our engineers.
• Work on an agile team to continuously experiment, iterate, and deliver on new technology objectives.
• Support and learn from engineers in your domain and across the organization.
• Have opportunities to gain expertise in backend engineering.

Who You Are

• You have an appetite for web engineering and an interest/experience in platform work.
• Ideally, you have demonstrable experience in modern React development with fundamentals in Javascript, Next.js, etc. (micro-frontends, GraphQL experience is a bonus!)
• You have a product mindset, understand how to cater to engineers as end users and apply these skills to building out platform services.
• You’re curious and eager to dive deep into different system architecture.
• You have a growth mindset and are excited to learn about all of the exciting work going on in the “Podcast Mission”.
• You have a sense of humor and like to have fun! 

Where You'll Be

• This role will be based in our New York office.

The United States base range for this position is $ 100,705 - $ 143,865, plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, a monthly meal allowance, 23 paid days off, 13 paid flexible holidays. These ranges may be modified in the future.
