Hiring Rate: $17.63/hour

Position Overview 

 

The Neighborhood and Human Services Department is hiring Summer Site Leads for our licensed Summer Camp Program serving youth ages 5–14. Camps operate at multiple locations throughout the City of Peoria and are licensed by the Department of Health Services. 

 

Teacher/Caregivers supervise and monitor children by actively participating with them through play and staff-led enrichment opportunities such as literacy, arts and crafts, and STEAM projects. If you have a passion for working with children, this is the job for you! 

 

Varied shifts are available. Together, staff will work with you to create a schedule that fits your needs – choose to work mornings, Monday through Friday, or work afternoons instead. If you have more flexibility and desire additional hours, there may be opportunities to work and earn more!

What You’ll Do

  • Supervise and monitor children in a safe and structured environment
  • Actively participate in camp activities, including literacy enrichment, arts and crafts, games, recreational activities, and STEAM projects
  • Participate in weekly field trips to fun and exciting local places
  • Provide excellent customer service to families and participants
  • Support compliance with Department of Health Services (DHS) guidelines
  • Work the required July 4th Special Event at the Peoria Sports Complex

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 16 years old
  • Ability to obtain a Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid certification
