JOB SUMMARY
The VP of Transformation, Office of the CIO, serves as a common thread across the technology and business organization and enables foundational capabilities to deliver technology solutions, strategy through execution, that enable business outcomes and create customer value. They work closely with the technology leadership team to align technology initiatives to the overall business and technology strategy, develop and maintain transition roadmaps, execute cross-functional initiatives and drive the modernization of technology. They facilitate establishing near-term and long-term management, organizational, operational, and financial plans to successfully materialize the CIO’s strategic vision. This position partners with business and executive leadership to identify and manage the corporate portfolio and facilitates prioritization of projects, and tracks as well as monitors benefits realization.
The VP of Transformation has a proven ability to understand critical needs, solve business problems, build multi-discipline teams, lead people/projects and deliver against strategic goals. They are skilled in developing and leading high performing teams in an environment of continuous change. They have extensive experience in the creation and implementation of highly-effective, repeatable processes focused on quality and efficiency. They drive innovation and adoption of industry leading practices, while guarding, governing, and reporting on how the overall technology organization operates. Using a digital mindset and agile frameworks, they will develop tools and strategies to enable best-in-class delivery and planning services along with effective resource capacity management through next-generation, industry leading tools, best practices, reporting capabilities and governance. This position requires a deep understanding of transformation principles, technology and organizational change management to shape and lead key efforts and serve as a trusted subject matter expert for senior leaders.
Their main responsibilities include Agile Transformation, Technology Quality Assurance, Strategic Projects, Technology IMO, Transformation Office and incubating a culture of innovation. They play a pivotal role in transforming the technology organization’s mindset, behavior and ways of working.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Executes transformation program, setting program management routines and bring focus to the team on the activities required to deliver on planned benefits; leads, organizes, directs, manages and controls inter-related activities for transformation programs as well as owns and manages associated tools including the project, portfolio, benefits realization, and utilization management
- Leads key transformation projects and will provide support by facilitating business case, timeline development, managing progress to milestones, and refining benefits assumptions as necessary
- Develop and maintain Ryder’s project delivery methodologies, standards, accelerators and tools, leveraging design thinking, Lean & Agile principles
- Oversee the Agile Center of Excellence, and own the agile journey, to promote the success of Agile expansion across the organization through engaging leaders and stakeholders; continuing to develop and improve Agile capabilities and maturity; develop and support product teams; implement a enterprise scaled agile framework
- Establish Center of Excellence for Software Quality Assurance, implement leading practice in software testing methodologies, with primary focus on automated test frameworks and scripts to drive efficiency and productivity
- Lead efforts to bring about operational and culture change to the organization by implementing innovative solutions to improve process controls, cost reduction, efficiency, productivity and quality
- Serve as a steering committee member and executive sponsor on strategic projects
- Plan, organize, staff, direct and control the day-to-day operations of the department; develop and implement policies and programs as necessary; may have budgetary responsibility and authority
- Coaches and mentors’ staff and provides development opportunities
- Support technology leadership functions including annual planning, budgeting, status reporting, presentations and continuous improvement
