Job Summary
Responsible for the management, oversight, and support of the day-to-day operations of the IT applications and helping teams achieve their goals and work strategically together. Highly collaborative with various stakeholders at different levels of the organization to manage projects, monitor operations, and improve transparency. Develops and maintains IT policies, procedures, and standards relating to implementation, and operations of IT applications. Ensures the protection of enterprise IT assets and integrity, security, and privacy of information.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Works as part of the IT Applications Team to determine how technology can best be used to enable or enhance business processes.
- Provides strategic and tactical leadership for IT applications.
- Guides team through complex technology challenges to deliver maximum return on IT applications investment.
- Guides team to set individual and team goals, monitor performance and conduct evaluations.
- Works across functions with peers in other groups to ensure collaboration for shared goals.
- Works with senior management and other peers on strategy development and execution planning.
- Builds a sustainable internal/external network that provides access to information and resources.
- Collaborates with business, development, and other analyst teams to write technical and functional documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, and corrections; including end user documentation (training) to describe new or enhanced functionality.
- Provides work prioritization, analyzes, modifies, writes and/or executes thorough change requests test plans and checklists to ensure that business system changes are working properly, existing processes remain unaffected, and the needs of the users are met.
- Provides guidance to team to create high quality functional business requirements; coordinates work effort with Development team to translate documents into technical requirements.
- Proactively puts forth recommendations to address forecasted risks and changing technology environment.
- Proactively researches, recommends, collaborates, presents, and assists in implementation of emerging technologies and/or vendor solutions as they relate to company’s best practices.
- Develops and adheres to annual budget for IT applications team.
- Ensures systems are up to date with business continuity and disaster recovery documentation.
- Ensures customer satisfaction and addresses problems and complaints as they arise.
- Works seamlessly with others across geographical, functional and cultural boundaries.
Non-essential Functions
- Participates in the development and implementation of enterprise IT policies.
- Communicates best practices across area of responsibility and participates in continuous improvement of IT processes.
- Develops and continually enhances Border States Electric SDLC best practice guidelines and application change management procedures.
- Provides support as Tier 4 when needed of the IT Helpdesk.
- Actively leads and participates in staff meetings and group discussions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or designate.
Qualifications
- 4 Year STEM Degree or equivalent experience.
- 9+ years of relevant work experience.
- 4+ years of people management experience.
- 2+ years of S/4HANA experience.
- Experience leading a large team of functional analysts in an SAP landscape.
- Expert knowledge of business system configurations and emerging technology trends.
- Expert knowledge of one SAP functional module preferably Finance with S4 certification.
- Advanced understanding of relational databases and client-server concepts and commonly used database architecture concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
- Good working knowledge of PC, Windows, Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint), Internet, and Outlook. SAP experience preferred.
