Regular Faculty work under the direction of their respective Associate Dean/Division Dean and are responsible for meeting all scheduled classes/labs/clinics and providing instruction in accordance with the philosophy and objectives of the College and the Department Chair's approved course outline. Regular Faculty are also responsible for using teaching methods and media designed to reach students of varying educational and experiential backgrounds to allow each student the opportunity to master the objectives of the course.
Regular Faculty are required to serve a provisional period from the date of employment until the completion of employment under three consecutive full year regular contracts.
This position may require working in virtual, weekend, evening, or various campus locations. Successful candidate must be willing to teach concurrent enrollment both on PPSC campuses and in local area high schools.
The required teaching schedule is August to May with the required pay schedule from September to August.
Minimum Qualifications
- Completed master’s or bachelor's degree in Accounting or related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in accounting.
- Two years of full-time experience in the accounting field.
- Teaching or training experience.
- Post-secondary/college-level teaching experience.
- Ability to demonstrate or articulate a commitment to serving underrepresented populations or populations affected by societal inequities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctorate in accounting or a closely related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or Certified Management Accountant (CMA).
- Two or more years of full-time teaching experience.
- Experience with QuickBooks or other accounting software.
- Experience with Excel.
- Demonstrated ability or experience with alternative delivery systems such as online classes, multimedia, and using technology in the classroom (e.g., Desire2Learn, Blackboard, computer software applications, etc.).
- Management experience.
- Bilingual in Spanish or another Latin-based language.
