About the role

A Day in the Life:

The Senior Corporate Accountant provides management with financial information by researching and analyzing accounts, preparing journal entries in Oracle and performing account reconciliations.

We expect the starting salary to be around $85,000; the actual salary will be determined based on years of relevant work experience

What You’ll Do:

  • Prepares internal and external reports by gathering and analyzing information from the Oracle general ledger system and from departments.
  • Analyzes information and options by developing spreadsheet reports; verifying information.
  • Prepares general ledger entries in Oracle related to the company’s debt facilities and various reserves and accruals, including completing ad-hoc queries in Oracle and FCCS.
  • Preparing account reconciliations in excel and ARCS.
  • Assists in all aspects of the external audit, including the preparation of audit schedules as needed and collaboration with the auditors.
  • Ensures compliance with Hertz policies, internal controls, and Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
  • Special projects as needed.
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

 

  • What We’re Looking For:
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on accounting experience
  • Bachelors Degree in accounting required; CPA preferred
  • Experience with preparing journal entries in Oracle, Oracle queries and account reconciliations
  • Deadline-Oriented, Time Management, Attention to Detail, Confidentiality, Productivity, General Math Skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel/MS Word/MS Office
  • Ability to work well and communicate with various leads within the organization and to work closely as required with other functional areas such as tax, treasury, and corporate finance
  • Strong analytical and accounting skills
  • Problem solving ability
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with high level of difficulty
