DIRECTOR OF INFECTION PREVENTION ( ***This is not a remote position***)    The Director of Infection Prevention oversees the planning, organizing, communicating, directing, and controlling functions necessary to ensure overall operational viability for Departments which are assigned. Requires broad knowledge of clinical and administrative requirements and accreditation/licensure standards. Coordinates classification and reporting of all patient, employee, and significant community acquired infections identified at the Medical Center, the Home Office and regulatory agencies including NHSN. Actively participates in Tenet’s Infection Prevention Program and is responsible for the Infection Control Module data entry and follow-up reports to NHSN.     Qualifications   Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Nursing, or Hospital Administration highly desired; Master’s Degree in Business, Nursing, Public Health or Hospital Administration or equivalent preferred. Minimum five (5) years of recent nursing or appropriate clinical experience in an acute care setting Recent two (2) years’ experience in Infection Control preferred Knowledge of OSHA, APIC, Title 22, JCAHO, and CDC regulations and guidelines Computer/PC literate (word-processing, spreadsheet & graphics) Current California RN License Current member of The Association for Professionals in Infection Control & Epidemiology (APIC) highly desired Current Certification Board of Infection Control (CIC) (ormust obtain a certification within two (2) years of hire/ transfer)      

Pay Range: $68.58 - $109.71 

Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience

Responsible for program planning and policy development and implementation; data collection, reporting, education and regulatory compliance; budget planning; Manages the department and staff; has the ability to hire, fire and discipline; may be responsible for surveillance activities; evaluates the effectiveness of the program; provides education to staff, patients and families.

Education:

Required: Bachelor's degree in related health care field.
Preferred: Master's degree.

Experience:

Required: 5 years of experience in a hospital inpatient setting.
Preferred: 2 years of infection prevention experience.
