The successful candidate is required to:
- Review economic regulation frameworks to ensure that appropriate economic incentives are in place for natural monopolies to operate efficiently and invest prudently in energy infrastructure.
- Assess the regulated fees and tariffs charged by monopolies to ensure adequate recovery of prudent investments.
- Review the regulated electricity tariffs.
- Review the licensing framework to embrace new business models and new energy technologies, and assess licence applications to allow new entrants to the electricity sector.
- Handle consumer enquiries and feedback.
1. Background in economics, accountancy, finance, business or a related field.
2. Relevant experience in economic analysis and policy work. Experience in economic regulation of natural monopolies or large-scale infrastructure development is an advantage.
3. Excellent analytical, negotiation and communication (both written and verbal) skills.
4. Resourceful, able to work independently and in a team.
5. Able to work under tight timelines and work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams and diverse stakeholders.
6. Positive team player with a strong interest to shape the future of Singapore's energy industry.
