We are looking for an experienced automotive industry Customer Site Service Manager to lead  activities at our Mercedes Benz customer site in Alabama.  You will have 3 direct reports and ensure key initiatives and daily paint department demands are handled to customer satisfaction.

BASF’s Coatings division is a global expert in the development, production and marketing of innovative and sustainable automotive OEM and refinish coatings, decorative paints as well as applied surface treatments for metal, plastic and glass substrates in a wide range of industries.  The role responds to customer requirements, enforces product quality/performance specification, and supports new product/application development. The Customer Site Service Manager (CSSM) will provide on-site expertise of product performance including color management, defect identification, and corrective action if necessary. S/he will develop and support  our Mercedes customer relationship and should be able to communicate clearly and effectively with both internal and customer teams and able to convey expectations, address concerns, and maintain open lines of communication to ensure everyone is on the same page. 

The incumbent will demonstrate the technical and professional expertise to enhance BASF’s reputation with the customer. S/he will integrate within the business and technical community to bring additional value to ECO coatings customers. The role controls key performance indicators within product service environments to drive problem resolution and product improvement initiatives critical to customer performance expectations.

• Providing on-site technical and application expertise of product performance including color management, defect identification, and corrective action if necessary.
• Assuring product performance meets or exceeds customer expectations and supports business objectives to be our customer’s supplier of choice.
• Responding to customer requirements, enforcing product quality/performance specification, and supporting new product/application development.
• Supporting the efforts of a BASF sales/technical team to assure value to the customer for product technical support, problem investigation, analysis, and resolution.
• Managing existing relationships and developing new ones.
• Virtually Managing technical service provided to a Tier supplier based in Michigan.
• Possessing solid understanding of different application processes used in OEM and tier plant (two tone). 
• Developing and maintaining three-way communication channel amongst vendors and BASF, for technical and inventory topics

If you...

 

• Hold a Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) or High School Diploma (or GED) plus Equivalent Experience
• 6+ years of Automotive Coatings Industry experience is essential
• Have Extensive background in paint applications and manufacturing you will provide on-site expertise of products, their application and performance.
• Have superior communication abilities and strong entrepreneurial drive and business acumen 
• Have leadership skills as well as management skills to coach, mentor and develop your team members
