About the role

We are actively recruiting for a Manager of Commercial Network Performance. The  Manager of Commercial Network Performance will play a critical role in driving strategy, operations, and performance in Aledade’s multiple commercial contracts across multiple payers and markets. They will be at the intersection of all key activities: developing and executing on contract and market-specific strategic plans, guiding our field teams’ efforts with commercial (often multiple) contracts, liaising with payer partners,  and contributing to ideation and testing of new processes and tools to support our commercial success. The Manager of Commercial Network Performance must be able to establish strong, collaborative relationships with payer partners to reach mutually defined quality and cost goals, develop outcomes-oriented partnerships with our Aledade field teams, have a good understanding of levers available to influence the cost of care, and working knowledge of commercial insurance and insurers’ business models. This role requires demonstrated excellence in creating “buy-in” with internal and external stakeholders to promote and affect change in the way healthcare is delivered.  We are looking for individuals who genuinely believe that Aledade’s model of physician-led ACOs can improve quality and lower cost.
This position will work remotely within the US, with occasional travel to Headquarters (Bethesda, MD) and/or assigned markets (post pandemic).

Your footprint & specific duties within role:

  • Develop and implement strategy and operational plan for commercial contracts to drive successful outcomes across Aledade’s provider network, including achieving contractual quality thresholds and generating shared savings
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for assigned commercial contract(s); able to translate contract terms into actionable approaches to achieve savings and quality outcomes working with Aledade field teams 
  • Conduct analyses to pinpoint greatest areas for quality and cost interventions 
  • Collaborate across Aledade teams including Clinical Innovation, Operational Excellence, and Product to advance Aledade’s strategy at the market level
  • Develop tracking tools and metrics for monitoring progress for each contract and across the portfolio of contracts 
  • Synthesize performance status including key successes and challenges by contract and communicate to leadership and other stakeholders
  • Manage payer partner relationship and ensure deliverables are met; develop presentations to facilitate effective Joint Operating Committee (JOC) meetings with payers
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as requested by Aledade’s Provider Network leadership team.
  • Develop, mentor, and lead Analyst(s)

What we value & position requirements:

  • A Master’s degree or other advanced degrees in health services research, health policy, mathematics/statistics, information technology, or other relevant fields is preferred
  • Deep understanding of the commercial insurance landscape and value-based care 
  • 5+ years of related experience working in the healthcare industry (i.e., health plan, provider groups, hospital, pharmaceutical manufacturer, government, pharmacy chain, management consulting) with a proven track record of successfully managing projects and performance and interfacing with internal or external stakeholders
  • Relevant competencies include developing and maintaining customer relationships, analytical problem solving, project management, effective written and verbal communication, and strategic insight
  • Must be results-oriented with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously to consistently meet deadlines and client expectations
  • Periodic travel to assigned Aledade markets and team retreats is required (post pandemic).  
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining focus on key goals.
  • Thinks beyond immediate team and contributing to making Aledade holistically better (culture initiatives, facilitating training, etc.)
All prospective hires will be required to demonstrate that they have been fully vaccinated, including booster shots, against COVID-19 with a COVID-19 vaccine for which the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has issued a license or an Emergency Use Authorization prior to mutually-agreed upon start date at Aledade, unless they qualify for a medical or religious accommodation to this vaccination requirement.
