Job Description:
This position has overall responsibility to achieve the budgeted membership sales goals for Select Health Medicare lines of business. Establishes strong relationships with brokers, agents and employers. Educates on the Medicare lines of business. Implements and acts on strategic broker plans to achieve monthly and annual sales goals. Motivates and manages sales brokers and agents to sell Select Health products and services.Essential Job Duties
Establishes relationships and works closely with external consultants, agents and brokers to achieve Medicare sales goals. Executes strategic broker market plans with select agencies. Educates agents on products, policies, procedures and regulations. Works as a liaison between the broker and Medicare support departments. Creates and delivers effective sales presentations to consultants, brokers, agents and employers to increase awareness and promote SelectHealth lines of business. Maintains a complete understanding of all the components of Medicare benefit plans. Establishes and maintains a mutually productive relationship with all Medicare support departments. Gains a thorough understanding of the Medicare Compliance Regulations. Establishes self as a subject matter expert. Provides market feedback that leads to the development of innovative products and services. Assists management in developing market strategies. Travels as required to further business and professional relationships. Prepares letters of correspondence to consultants, brokers and clients as needed. Keeps management apprised of broker/agent issues and other relevant information. Provides ongoing feedback using market conditions, industry trends, and broker insight to assist strategic product development. Participates on assigned committees to provide market feedback and help shape policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or four years’ experience in health insurance, management, marketing or sales. Degree must be obtained through an accredited institution. Education is verified.
- Five years of health insurance industry experience.
- Current Utah State health insurance agent/consultant license.
- Complete AHIP or NAHU Medicare certification training within 2 months of licensing.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Intermediate computer skills including experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets.
- Demonstrated effective organization and communication skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of health insurance plan concepts, operations and regulations.
- Demonstrated excellent written, verbal and presentation skills with proven ability to communicate with mature customers, staff, peers, external organizations and groups.
- Proven ability to motivate and manage self and others toward goals in high pressure sales environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Three years managing insurance agency or insurance vendor relationships.
- Highly effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skill.

Physical Requirements
- Interact with others requiring the employees to communicate information.
- Operate computers, telephones, office equipment and manipulate paper requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.
- See and read computer monitors and documents.
- Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone or other equipment.
Schedule
- Minimum 8 hours a day, out in the field working with agents.
- Mostly remote, but will need to come into the office for meetings and other needs.
