Position Overview

The Illinois Department of Corrections is seeking an Office Assistant to work at Illinois River Correctional Center. This position is responsible for keyboarding a variety of documents, inputting data into Offender 360, sorting mail and serving as co-receptionist for Clinical Services staff. Essential Functions

• Keyboards various documents and reports, parole reports, work release, home monitor and release plans, letters, memos, etc. for the Field Services Unit.
• Inputs data into the Offender 360 and from reports completed by the Clinical and Field Services staff.
• Serves as co-receptionist for the Clinical Services staff.
• Receives, sorts, opens and distributes mail.
• Assists and inputs Adjustment and Program Individual in Custody Disciplinary Reports into Offender 360.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

• Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and one (1) year of related office experience.
• Requires the ability to keyboard accurately at thirty-five (35) words per minute.

• Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
• Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of the position held is prohibited.
