Global senior Safety Engineer (m/w/d)

Your roles and responsibilities

• Anchoring occupational safety at all levels of the MAHLE Group
• Ensuring Group objectives in the area of occupational safety
• Development of international standards, procedures and measures to reduce occupational safety risks and to prevent accidents and occupational diseases, ensuring rapid implementation.
• Auditing of production plants for compliance with specifications and identification of potential for improvement
• Ensuring legal conformity of measures taken for occupational safety and health protection
• Accident analysis and ensuring the implementation of adequate corrective measures.
• Development, implementation and tracking of performance indicators.
• Advisor and contact person for business units, regional and global business unit management and HSE officers in matters of legal compliance.
• Ensuring certification according to ISO 45001 in accordance with business requirements
• Team leadership of the global occupational safety team

 

Your skills and strengths

• Successfully completed university studies in the field of occupational safety or comparable training with technical character and further training in the field of occupational safety
• Extensive professional experience in the field of occupational safety in a manufacturing international company
• Excellent expertise in occupational safety principles and methods
• Experience in creating work safety processes and instructions.
• Very good knowledge of health, occupational and fire safety legislation
• Experience in change management in the field of occupational safety
• Experience in accident investigation and reporting, root cause analysis in the production environment
• Leadership experience and skills ideally in an international context
• Experience in implementing ISO 45001 and certified auditor desirable
• Knowledge of country-specific occupational safety regulations, such as OHSAS/JISHA/DGUV/NRs in Brazil desirable
• Strong communication skills, assertiveness, achievers culture and persuasiveness, diplomacy
• "Hands on" mentality and focused on practical and actionable solutions
• Experienced handling of stakeholders at all levels
• Excellent oral and written English and German skills
• Willingness to travel internationally
• Functional reports to the Head of Sustainability and HSE and knows the dynamics of an international companies
