The Clinical Skills Education and Assessment Center (CSEAC), within the College of Medicine, is a multi-disciplinary professional skills training lab that provides education and hands-on experience in basic clinical skills and advanced surgical, ultrasound and medical scenarios in a simulated patient care setting for students, residents, medical trainees, faculty and staff from the health system, all health sciences schools and colleges, and external clients.  Services include medical simulation and standardized patient programs.

The Medical Simulation Specialist supports the mission of CSEAC by providing technical support for all simulation operations; serves as simulator operator running pre-programmed scenarios with faculty instructors, assuring all equipment is set up for course programs; provides technical assistance, support and training to faculty, instructors and staff in use of simulation equipment, as necessary; participates in the post-simulation room clean-up, restocking of materials, and return of the learning space to “ready” condition; monitors and maintains appropriate inventory and maintenance schedule of task trainers and associated accessories, including all required documentation; conducts ongoing maintenance of all simulation equipment, including cleaning, repairing, assuring that all equipment is maintained in good working order at all times; operates A/V equipment to support simulation sessions, including cameras, microphones, projectors, A/V capture hardware/software, and control systems; assists with A/V and IT equipment maintenance; responsible for data entry into CSEAC assessment/ capture system as needed; provides administrative support, including organization of the shared drive, development of basic CSEAC materials, printing/copying, and assists in transportation of simulators and task trainers for loans and in situ offerings as needed. Completes other duties as assigned in support of all CSEAC programs.

Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience; 0 years of relevant experience required. 1-2 years of relevant experience preferred. Experience in a medical educational or clinical setting preferred. Requires successful completion of a background check. Qualified applications may be required to complete a drug screen and physical.

Additional Information:

Work hours are typically M-F, 8am-5pm, but can vary to include some early morning, evening and weekend events as needed. This role requires the ability to lift and maneuver large, heavy objects weighing in excess of 50 lbs.
